Guitar World Magazine has awarded their GOLD AWARD to Rocktron for the Patchmate Loop 8 Floor unit controller. 07/15/2010
0 Comments The Gold Award is given for “outstanding value” in a product. Reviewer Chris Gill had given a good review to the Rocktron Patchmate Loop 8 rack mount unit in 2009, and now in 2010 he has reviewed the Loop 8 Floor, a slightly newer version of the Patchmate product which featues 8 footswitches in a floor package. Gill wrote that the Patchamte Loop 8 Floor is a “powerful controller” that helps maintian “pristine sound quality no matter how complicated” the rig. Here’s your dream wah pedal from Rocktron providing excellent multi-function performance for a budget price. You will love the wah voicing modes. In fact, there are three voicing modes in all. A three-position switch allows you to choose voicing between Normal, Classic and Bass.

The Normal setting offers the frequency sweep that is the industry standard. The Classic setting is a sweet vintage wah that is musical and expressive. The Bass setting is not only designed for bass guitar, but also provides the frequency sweep to make drop tuned and 7 string guitars scream!Adjustable pedal rocker tension lets you adjust the pedal action for a lighter or heavier “touch”.The Tri-Wah includes Rocktron’s easy access battery compartment which makes changing batteries during a gig a breeze. The Tri-Wah, as with all Wah Wah pedals, should normally be put in the beginning of your signal chain. Although you may place your wah at any place in your signal chain, it usually sounds best at the beginning – directly from your guitar (or bass).

Zombie Rectified Distortion

Add a new
dimension to your sound with Rocktron’s Zombie
Rectified Distortion stompbox!
You’ll swear
your sound gets right up and walks out of your
cabinet! With an absolutely monstrously heavy
sound, the Zombie creates a rectified asymmetric
distortion with user control of the symmetry
balance of the distortion output waveform. In
essence, this creates the psycho-acoustic 3D
sound positioning effect that will make your
sound jump out of the cab.The Zombie gives you
distortion that cuts through the mix, plus two
bands of EQ.

A control called STARE
adjusts the symmetry of the distortion. Turning
the control clockwise increases the symmetry
offset of the distortion waveform, while counter-clockwise
decreases the asymmetry of the distortion. The SCREAM
control adjusts the rectified distortion. Use the
LOUDER control to adjust the
overall output of the Zombie pedal. BASS
control adjusts the bass frequencies and TREBLE
control adjusts the overall treble frequencies.
The ON LED will
light when the Zombie is active. The Zombie is a
great choice when used with an ALL TUBE guitar
amplifier to deliver rectified distortion. It can
take a plain sounding TUBE amp and produce
rectified distortion that rivals the sound of the
most expensive amplifiers in this class. This
monstrously heavy sound will cut through the mix
and deliver amazing tone! The Zombie features
Rocktrons easy-access battery compartment
to make changing batteries during a gig a breeze.

Harmony Central is a very good source of information on MIDI and MIDI utilities.You can use a MIDI Sysex utility like MIDI-OX to transfer presets to and from your Rocktron gear. Please visit www.midiox.com for their latest software.
